Music

Concert Band
Concert Band is an instrumental performance ensemble open to all students with experience on a brass, woodwind, or percussion instrument. String instruments, such as bass or violin, are also accepted, however, they will be performing band literature. Two years prior experience is preferred, but not required. The Concert Band performs at a minimum of two concerts per year, as well as CMEA festivals and various other performances. During the fall semester, the ensemble functions as pep band for the home football games, as well as a marching band for several local parades. This year, the Concert Band and Jazz Band will meet during the same class period, and all students will have the opportunity to practice and perform both styles of music.

Choir
Choir is a vocal performing ensemble open to all students who wish to sing. The Choir performs at a minimum of two concerts per year, as well as CMEA festivals and various other performances. Prior experience is not required, however, students will learn to sing and read music throughout the course of the year. Voice placement auditions will be held at the beginning of each semester to check range, vocal timbre, musical ability, etc., but will not be used to eliminate students from the ensemble. The choir performs a variety of repertoire, including both sacred and secular music, from many different time periods and genres.
